well ive had my license like 2 months so i have not had very much time to build one and really i am not that activly persuing one because i enjoy my license WAY TO MUCH to lose to some punk teenager
-i slaughtered a toyota MR2
I pulled out of the light hard and by the time i slowed down for the car infront of me ( the one i cought up to) i costed for like 3 secs and here this loud whining of this poor car revving entirley to high only to see it pull past at like maybe 10 over what i was going.
-i killed my cousin in his 94 lx
i ran by his house to borrow a video camera and he was leaving when i got there well i took off and we met up at a light. I did not really want to tear out of there if he was not going to race so i didnt have it revved really. Light turnes green i here the screaming of his tires so i stab the throttle through the floor and dumpped the clutch at like 2300 rpms. my tires screached and i was gon i went second and i was a good car ahead of him and i cannot really say that that is a fair distance because i think he may have backed off some when he realized i was going to win maybe because we were less than a block from like the police HQ or sumthin.
-early 90s stang 5.0
I admit i didnt kill this but i did keep up freakin good for being a 4 door 1.8L. And by keep up i mean literally stay on his butt through the hills by my house doin like 95 in a 45 it was fun

thats my list for now hehehe :wink:

You have a 4 door 1.8 liter??? They make the escort GT in a four door? Or did someone do an engine swap to the car before you got it? Are you sure it's not an LX? Or did you miscount the doors?

yup I have the LX E and whats odd is when i got it there is another girl at my church who got one but hers was red and an automatic (slow as sh**) and i liked mine it has alot of pep but when i race i have to start out roasting the tires because i have ZERO pull below like 3500 rpms then it takes off but its a fun one

well guys it happened... I WAS BEAT. i pulled up next to this older chevy blazer (those big ones with the 350's). It had a new paint job so i fugure it has some underhood mods unlike mine which is bone stock. It sounded tough so there is exhaust at least... anyway the road merges like a 1/8 mile after the light so when you want to go past someone slow you go the the right lane and get ahead of him when you see the green light well today this guy knew what was goin on and i dump the clutch (again at only 2000 rpms because i didnt want to light them up if it was going to be an easy pass) It was not an easy pass right off the line he jumped it and that is when i dumped the clutch and i stuck side by side through first and when second came he got up to about my front bumper to his rear and that was it i backed off so i could have a comefortable distance from him when i merged then was right back on the gas to keep up only to slow down like 3 seconds after that because of stupid traffic.
i think pound for pound and hp for hp i had him beat with my stockie. I kept my head up with a smile on my face following him knowing that i did my escort brothers well (for being insanely slow at that)... In other news befor this event i got done working for my boss back in the country back at his house and im leaving it i got to go up over this hill but i have to turn onto the hill so i slow down tho about 5 mph and stick it into 1st and released the clutch in a normal manner then i had my foot pegged to the floor the wheels broke loos at about 3500 rpms and when i redlined i shifted to 2nd and rode up the hill at about 7000 rpms in second spedo reading about 60. i rode about 1/8 of a mile up this hill with the wheels goin (actually i am pretty sure only one wheel was going but hey whos counting) they cought doing about 50 mph at the top of the hill (when i say they i mean it) given this was after a rain but it was still fun... ALOT!

The four doors and two doors are not all that different in weight, I don't think; my car is a four door and actually weighs a pound less than a second gen gt. Anyways, he never said he beat a GT, he said he beat an LX right? And he has the GT engine. I don't see why it's not possible.

whats really funny about that comment is the fact that you actually think you know what your talking about... actually from the dealer the 4 door only weighed like i believe 6 lbs more than the 2 door. If you thought before you spoke... wrote you would realize that not too much weight could have been added because the sideskirts are interchangable between the 4 and 2 door so it ws not streched out it just had 2 more doors cut into it...and you saying that they didnt know how to drive heh i think someones jelous that someone (me) knows how to drive. If you ever in the portland area ill give you a lesson.

ford mustang lx 5.0 runs a 14.9 from the factory...LOOK UP THE STOCK TIMES...

toyota mr2 stock runs a 14.8 NON turbo....dont tell me i dont know what i'm talkin bout


and actually ur wrong..i looked up the poundage....the lx-e weighs 2434 and the gt weighs 2456... i got that from edmunds.com...So ur wrong w/ ur little 6 pound diff...talk about not knowing what ur talkin about.

and i forgot to mention throw in a stereo system (which i dont know if you have but thats one of the first things people mod) and there goes your weight advantage. I dont have one because iam a poor teenager. oh and i forgot to mention that its not BONE stock i have a bolt removed from the exhaust (the retart before me tryed to take it off and mangled the other bolt so ill have to take it in and have it cut off), and i have some ducted tape around the intake hose because there are cracks in all of the little flex areas.

OMG, u actually think that a missing bolt is gonna change ur times???? HAHAHAHA...man if i could gain a second for every bolt i'd take 2 from the down pipe flange and all 8 for the manifold...then i would run a 6.1......beat that Saleen S7R!!!! :eek: :lol:

Hum. Well, there is also the little issue of...

-What year was the MR2? Was it a spyder? He might have gotten on the gas slower because he didn't realize you were racing at first. It could have been an automatic. Older MR2's (I think; I had a friend with one from the the late eighties, maybe early nineties? I don't know. It was old, and not particularly all that fast. It might have been running badly though. I never considered racing it though because it was mid engine and on two lane roads mid engine cars scare me. My poor little 110 HP FF would never be able to take one of those in a road race... I don't know about a drag.)

-As for the mustang, he was probably afraid to go any faster. Still, part of a race is what the driver has the balls for, and if you out do him in that area you can still call it a win. I dunno. The circumstances are not very clear here so...

actually if you need to go back to grade school and learn how to read the WHOLE thing i said i was pretty sure not POSITAVE and 22lbs (16lbs off of what i remembered hearing) is not grounds to make you sound smarter than you act like. 16 pounds is nothing i mean what if we drove the same thing but but you were like 100 lbs lighter then you would have something to cram up my a**. and "talk about knowing what your talking about" i think thats funny because you saying that your 2 door war far superior to my 4 door in the first place and that was much worse than my 16 lbs difference I know my car and what it can do and you also must keep in mind that some cars age better than others... some have had teenagers driving them since they were new and others have had 80 yr old grandpas driving them since they left the auto lot. now given the 5.0 could have and would have left me in his dust it was very nice but this mr2 had a teenager driving it and you could surely tell it had seen better days. I think before you go off on you lack of driving skill insecurities you should sit back and realize you (as well as I) dont know everything about what each of our cars could do. given we all have a ball park figure of what could be killed by our cars (neons, cavaliers etc.) we dont know how they have all been handled and that is a huge factor with my 11 yr old car.

i forgot that you have the intelligence of a rock i was joking you retard, Ill say that from now on so you wont have to guess if i was joking what did you think the ducted tape on my intake hose would??? (actually that would because without it i would be getting un metered air into the tb which would make it run lean but I SAID DUCTED TAPE AS A MOD FOR CRYIN OUT LOUD. I cannot believe you could not take that the way i wrote it my 7 yr old sis would have know it was a joke and she wouldnt have even understood what the heck i was talking about bolts removed and ducted tape on an intake hose? WHAT??? she would have said and started laughing whatever floats your boat i guess i you gotta make everyone believe your smart go for it because your not makin me feel dumb at all
