My mom is buying me a new car, or in the process of thinking about it, or something like that. It's a 97 LX with a five speed manual and alloy wheels. The friend she's buying it off of wants $2000.00 for it. It has 90k+ miles on it. Is this a good deal? Should I tell her to go ahead and do it?

Okay, update on the car. We went and picked it up today and wrote the owner a check for 2000.00 dollars. It's a red 1997 Escort LX with a pioneer CD player instead of the stock one. It has about 93 thousand miles on it. I got to drive it this afternoon after my mom brought it home and everything seems to be okay on it. So I now have a car! Yay! For having the amount of miles it does it seems to be well taken care of, as far as I can tell. My dad looked at the oil and it didn't have any burn marks on the dipstick. He said that was a good thing. The interior is nice as well and seems to have been vacuumed every week or something because it looks hardly even broken in and it is spotless. It needs new tires though. That's it so far.
