OK, so my parents got into this big speil with me on why my car isnt safe or reliable. So basically they said, if i can sell my escort, they will help me buy a new vehicle. There criteria was pretty good...

The problem is, theres not many nice new cars in that price range, What i want to do is see if i can pursuade them to go a little higher for a 2002 Subaru WRX, but im not sure.. any suggestions, oh, and fixing up the escort unfortunatly wasnt an option.

Just tell them that the '02+ Subaru Impreza is one of the safest cars (according to crash tests) in the mid-level compact car market. Try not to mention turbo too much... not many parents are fans of that word. Turboed cars used to be less reliable and significantly more expensive to fix... not the case any more.

WRXs are also holding their value well, so be sure to remind them of that.

man, I am so glad that cannot happen to me...but since you are asking ...a Suby would be nice, but as price can be an issue there are several worthy cars about that are not as exp in the secondary market...although I am not sure of the pricing of these in Canadian dollars...Mazdaspeed Protege, SVT Focus, Spec-v, Civic Si..these are reasonbly priced and fun cars...or for a little less, you could get a Protege 5, ZX2, Focus ZX3, Lancer OZ, Civic EX, Neon (the DOHC is not a bad model, if you can get used to owning a Neon...lol), Matrix, Celica, Corolla, Tiburon, Miata, MR2...those are the ones that come off the top of my head....I know opinions vary about some of these...btu there they are...another one I have thought of that is a different car, but comes with 145hp and is pretty fun to drive is the Suzuki Aerio SX, the wagon one is pretty cool with some 18's on it and it comes with a cool digital dash...also very receptive to ICE installs...if bought with an auto you can get awd...oh and one more before I forget...how about the Scion TC?...have seen a couple on the street...not too bad overall
