I've had an interesting development of late. Neighbor is selling his girl's 93 Escort Wagon. It's the same white as my GT. Been looking for a car for hauling duties since I don't want to dirty up the GT. Wagon would be an excellent bet, plus at only $900 and in good shape, worth picking up. But I've also been thinking....how cool it would be to put the GT's bodywork on the wagon as much as possible - grille, skirts, front bumper, transfer over the suspension bits, and finally do the motor swap. Add the GT wheels....

This would be absolutely killer. A GT wagon. I know it's been done before, but now I have a chance at making this happen.

Well Beaverboy was an inspiration....plus there was an older guy on the old GT board, Rob, silver wagon with MSW SuperTurismo wheels - awesome looking. Plus guys over on ERDT.

I always wanted an Audi Avant or Volvo 850T wagon. So I'll settle for the next best thing.

It seems like it would be a lot of work to drop the 1.8L in there... it seems like a lot of work for what you already have in the GT.

Since you're already doing the work, maybe you should just go balls out and do a V6 swap.

Bah! Well it aint gonna happen. The car was misrepresented. I was told that the oil leak was the valve cover gasket and that it had been fixed. Well, it was a gasket alright, the head gasket. And this was the 2nd time it'd been fixed recently. Leading me to think that the thing had overheated previously and warped the head. Causing seating problems. And the AC was out of freon - so I'd have to pay $$$ to recharge or get it converted. The crank pulley had a bit of a wobble as well.

Was for sale in good condition at $1555. I was going to offer $900 based upon previous info. But right now, probably not worth much more than $300-$500. I don't know how much longer it'll run with a crank wobble.
