How do I get the bolts out of rear mount or support. They are faceing the frame. Currently have the cross member out an front mount. No 3 bar support to hold engine in. Jackstands and jack. Have all 4 new mounts to replace. Bottom tranny are shot esp. rear. Please help. Currently setting on jack and stands. Need to get this out. Thanks in advance for any help.

i would put a 2x4 under the engine and jack up on that 2x4 and remove the drives side tranny mount, leaving the pass mount hooked up. now drop the jack down alil so you can get to the bolt on the rear tranny mount. then just replace that one and the other 2 while u have them unhooked. once done put the cross member back up and then jack the pass side up and change that mount out and ur done.

Okay, "VA". Thanks for your input so far. Up till 12 my time searching. Came across a few other post's. This needs to be stickied or A How To. Ford's bright idea or Mazda one. No biggie really. Just as I had thought that the upper driver had to come loose. Then lower the driver side leaving passenger attached. Now my other issue. Crossmember bushings. Where can we get these besides Ford. Ford wants $8 apiece for 6 total an that figure before tax is $50.00. Do we have another source. Napa told me Rare part . com. Autojunk says no avail. Please give me you guys's thought's on this. Oh an these bushings are coming from Dearborn with 5 day turn around. uhhgh...... means putting back together and apart next week..............

Oh And "VA". you make me sick. You have all that and a B6T 323. Is it AWD. I used to have a Festy an was a Ford festiva . com member in the day.. I had done alot to the stock engine and was also getting at worst 40mpg. My Max was 58mpg. I wanted to do the B6T swap. Or least the 1.6 swap with header. Wife called it Clifford the big red dog. Had clifford on dash as co driver. Miss that su#*er.

Got it done thanks. Was a Pain. But survived an made easier for next replacement. Both lower were shot. Va thanks.

im not sure where to get the cross member bushings mine never look too bad........ yea got the awd 323 gtx too. i drove from va to ky to pick it up 20hrs total there and back lol but i love it. im trying to get the escort done so i can start working out the 323 i have a 1.8 w/ gtx goodies and a gtx tranny to swap in here sometime in the next year or so......................................but im glade u got it done!!!!
