HI,

I am new to the board and just bought my friends 99 zx2 and I love it. But it did not have a cd changer for it. So i went on ebay and bought the changer and cartridge seperate and now they do not match.

If anyone had the changer could they please pass on the part numbers for both as ford will not give them to me or direct me in the right direction on how to get them.

Thanks and i look forward to talking more to you all.

why wont ford give them to you?

do they not know or are they refusing to tell you? Anything general knowledge like that is supposed to be released to the public. It has to be.

Or steal it or something and you dont know what cartridge it takes????

This may sound ridiculous, but why are you keeping the factory sound anyway? I'm not sure what's in the newer Fords, but the AM/FM/cassette and speakers that came in my 1991 LX was insulting to my ears. By yourself some quality stuff up front and you'll be happier in the end.

They have an enormous oval head unit. Is it combined with the AC/Heat controls like in tauruses?

He pretty much has to keep the stock head unit.

Look on cardomain.com to see the dashboard layout of a gen3 Escort.
