hey guys i have auto lx..

Under the car by the radiator on the drivers side there is a electrical plug there. Does anybody else have this? and what could it be for?..

If by "electrical plug" you mean a standard house 110v plug then that would be for your block heater.

yes a standard house plug. wow could it really a block heater, do they come standard or optional in escorts? and how do i check what kinds of block heater it is?

Plug it in. It it heats, it's the working kind.

It was an option. The Ford Service Manual even shows it, and how to remove and replace it.

Me, I preferred to use battery heaters on cold nights.

if ur talkin about that little black box with holes at the bottom that resembles a house plug, that would be ur evaporative emissions canister. it stores fuel vapors in it after the motor has been shut down. when u restart it, it will send the vapors thru the vacuum line to the bottom of the throttle body.

Doesnt the connector that plugs into the radiator fan also look something like a 110volt household outlet? That would be on the passenger side.

Yea but this is on the drivers side..rite beside the rad...i'll plug it in this this weekend and see what happens..and yea i prefer a battery heater over a block heater lol..
