well, i finally got the opportunity to pick up an EGT for the first time. ive owned a few LX escorts, but this is my first GT. anyway i got it form a kid that dumped a ton of money into it in high school, then got a newer car and put this one of the side of the house for 4 years.

anyway here is it. 1991 Escort GT, 168K miles.

Exterior: it has a X-Bomber body kit, 17" ASA Wheels, Brembo dimpled rotors, Painted red calipers, faux dual exhaust, after market fog lights wired up to the factory harness, and the whole car has been repainted to a nice glossy black.

Interior: has Matrix "race" seats up front stock rear seats, pioneer deck with front and rear speakers as well as 2 12" subs in the trunk, the dash and all trim pieces have been painted black to match the car. i also have the zxtuner glow gauges that i may install, not a huge fan of them though. it needs a few new pieces here and there, but overall a very nice interior.

Performance: i have a cold air intake for it, but not on it because i need to smog it this week. that and a high flow converter and a flowmaster muffler. everything else is stock.

plans: id like to sell is ASAP, but if i keep it ill replace the broken interior pieces and put on the CAI.

more distance plans: energy suspension motor mount inserts, energy suspension bushing kit, id like to build my own rear subfame and adjustable links as well as a full front subframe brace with skid, ill sell the body kit and build some rally bumper and sliders, then possibly build it for rally.

    anyway, pics as of now

haha, well, thanks!! when i saw it for sale i knew i was going to buy it. it has some issues, but all in all its pretty nice. id like to find some new arm rests and front door speaker covers as well as new carpet, but those are pretty low on the list as theyre not that bad really.

ide like to turbo it, but cali smog will not allow it, plus, its not bad as is. if i lightened it up it would even been better.

cleaned up some wiring nightmares today and was able to remount the sub box and fix an ignition issue. the car is 100% now. so its now for sale. $2500.

installed an MX-3 rear tie bar today. going to order up some strut bars and build a front tie bar. in the next few months.

also, might be getting a BP26 ECU soon.

Hahah, well thanks. I used to own a 300 hp Saab with full poly suspension etc, but honestly this car feels tighter, might be the weight difference, but the egt just handles way better. Hopefully 200hp will make me feel a little better about this car. Fully down to build the suspension before the motor though.

Nice GT! If you want even tighter suspension, get some sway bars. I like my Suspension Techniques bars. An extra 19mm bar up front and a 22mm in the rear.

alright, explain how they use the stock front bar with another bar. i assume its mounted below the arms. does this create a issue with dragging it on everything?

Looks pretty nice man. Just FYI, that is the Andy's Autosport Intimidator kit. The X-bomber kit is not nearly as tall on the front and rear bumpers. Yours matches the height of the side skirts, which is the way Andy's designed it(better quality kit than the X-bomber too).

The car looks very familiar... but I can't seem to put a member's name with the car. At any rate, it's in nice shape, take good care of it!

passed smog no problem yesterday, ive weeded out all the random wires that were in it, and fixed the ignition. . . . so, i have a guy coming friday to take a look at it. selling it for $2500, hopefully i sell it.

anyone know of a GTX or an AWD protege for sale?

Yes, the additional bar rides below the a-arms. I am 1.8" lower and have only scraped twice in about 10 years...

you get any more understeer with the front being so much stiffer than the rear?

Pushing is not an issue I have. If this car understeers, I am doing something wrong. The bars were designed as a set and besides stock, I have no basis of comparison; but I do like the response and how fast it settles down.
