Ok after spending over 4000$ in my car in less than 4 months and being stuck in the middle of the road for more than 4 times in 2 months im getting rid of this fucking piece of shit.

Don´t get me wrong, i love my scort and i love the ride, but this fucking car is putting me in the streets and i cant pay for the repairs. It´s nothing that has to do with the engine, the engine runs fine... I put in full exhaust, full brake job, full suspension, alternator + full of stuff

I live in the ottawa sector and the car has 152 000 km... If anyone can take that piece of shit off my hands he is welcome to, i would like to have at least 2000$ canadian for it and it has a cd player with rockford fosgate speakers (wow)

So anyway, it was nice knowing you all, take care of your scorts...
if you are interested in buying it, just reply...

Remember the car engine runs fine and has no rust, i just got tired of putting money in it every week.

Sorry for calling it a piece of shit, but my patience is over with that car...

the filter is a $10 part and a 5 minute repair job and the battery and altinators are probably connected or caused by each other.

how the hell did that + brakes cost you $4000? even if it is canadian hehe.

Brakes even new rotors and calipers shouldn´t be more than 600 for really good stuff.

but hey if you want to sell it go for it. I wish I were close. for $2000 canadian that would be a sweet deal.

Handbrake = 700$ changed calipers and other stuff still don´t work
Exhaust = 600$
Suspension = 1400$
Minor repairs = 200$ gas filter, weird little problems
rotors and tierods brakes lines = 1400$

Frankly, so much stuff broke i dont even remember anymore...

I would like to get a 96 gt... Even if they are rare i would like to get one but it would´nt be now because like I said, with a minimum wage job i can´t pay all this stuff right now...

I paid 1500$ for the car, but still i would of tought that it would of all happen in so little time...

oh and it needs a new clutch...

maybe tomorrow i´ll wake up and the money will grow on threes

I just got my car back 2 days ago and it was the alternator that was going bad again...

I was at my girlfriend tonight, go in the car, guess what? my car won´t start again!!! another god dam time im going to get towed again.

4 times towed in less than 2 months...

All the accesories where working and the lights too so i know it´s not the alternator but maybe it´s the starter??

Man, i can´t believe what this car is costing me right now...

Cursed?

Im telling you, the guys at candian tire reserved a spot for me it´s not funny anymore.

Could be the starter, but another possibility is the ignition switch is bad. This is a common problem and caused repeated problems in my 91 scort, thankfully before I bought it off my friend. Maybe the ignition switch is just not sending any power to the starter?
:-(
Anyway, hang in there man. Sounds like you´ve had more than your share of trouble with that scort, so it can only get better, right?

your right 2redscorts...

Turns out the car started on the next day, without doing anything.

i think it has something to do with the clutch because it was like if you try to turn on the car without pressing on the clutch... weird...

I´m on my 4th ignition switch since buying the car, which was my largest annoyance for starting problems. I now need a new alternator, and tranny! The alternator in mine just doesn´t seem to be able to maintain the proper voltage under certain load conditions and doesn´t seem to be putting out much amperage cause I can no longer turn my amp on!

As for parking brake, mine didn´t work for a while, then I just pulled the wheels off and hosed the lever down with penetrating fluid and kept working it back and forth for a while! Works fine now and only sticks once and a while!

[/QUOTE I dont know about the rest of you but i think thats really expensive for the parts your listing there ,i just replaced my struts(kyb gr-2) $200 fer all 4,coil springs(moog) $80,ball joints and tie rod ends(also moog)$100,whaeel bearings(like 20 bucks)rotors ($40),pads and shoes($45),tires(falken ze 502 205 60 14, $189 fer all 4, the alternator was pretty expensive at $135,any way theres alot more but i dont know that much about the diff.in can.and american money but that really seems like your gettin burned pretty bad. it aso helps if you do it yourself ,labor rates are gettin up there ,i dont know what it is for cars (i do all my own work)but i work at a marina and we charge $70 dollars an hour just for labor.the work is not hard at all if you just sit down with a manual take your time and think about what your doing , its only a car not a bomb if you break something it can always be fixed.any way blah blah blah ,good luck on whatever you decide to dowith your car.

Why is everyone trying to bring me down with the prices, first of all we don´t live at the same place and if i could pay cheaper i would, but like i said canadian tire has the best prices on almost everything around here.

Oh, and im not a person who can fix his car, if you knew all the things that happen to me with tools you would understand, im not good with this fixing stuff and it´s not for everyone. Maybe i could take you snowboarding and you could follow me off cliffs and everything "Really, it´s not that hard".

Im giving my car a last chance and I did´nt post this to say that all escort are shit, but mine always breaks, and even if it always breaks, i´d buy another one just like it because i love the ride and how people under estimate it.

Just race this 2002 cherokee and it was pretty even, I had him at the end of my 3rd gear but i was suprised that he could hold me like that.
Oh, it was just a little race and nothing dangerous considering i was in a straight 70 km/h zone.

Remember, dont drive like a dumb ass always check around so if you hurt someone it will be yourself.

Anyway, peace all and I hope everything will be ok, "Please don´t break for 3 months at least"

Oh, if you get "road head" please stay on the right side...

Sorry for my sucky english frenchie here :p
