HID's in stock housings are a NO NO! Please don't be one of those jerks who blinds oncoming traffic!

That would mean you are blinding people with purple HID lights. Also known as the ricer JDM blinding.

It has to do with light reflection and refraction. The stock Escort housing utilize a 9004 bulb and "diffusers" (the lines that run vertically on housing) to aim the light. The bulbs for HIDs are not setup to be properly diffused or aimed by the housing. This lead to light bleed everywhere including high into the eyeline of traffic. Properly do HIDs and projectors have a cut-off line to the light to reduce amount of glared light to oncoming traffic. I could go HID with no issue, but I have no issues seeing and I even get flashed for my lows as it is. If looking for better light output, clean the lenses and get some SilverStar bulbs or comparable. If you had the $$, I'd make a set of lights like mine.
