I am currently in the middle of a swap and will be posting updates in this thread hopefully to answer compatibility issues. The vehicles: A 1996 LX wagon, with manual transmission, airbags, A/C, rear drums and power steering. All the windows and locks are manual. A 1993 EGT with manual transmission, cruise control, power steering, rear discs and A/C. The windows and locks are manual and no airbags (I don't even know if that was even an option in 1993).
Both cars are gutted and I am currently putting the EGT wiring into the wagon. I am losing the airbags and the windshield wiper motor had to be swapped out because the terminals were not compatible. I will be swapping out the steering column along with the entire dash.

I discovered a gaping hole in the front passenger floorpan. It most likely resulted from me using the pseudo rail looking pieces of metal under the floorpan to jack the vehicle up a couple years ago. I am going to cut it out and mig weld a piece of sheet metal.

I am also going to do the rear disc swap, rock auto has the brake booster and master cylinder part numbers different from a '96 LX to '93 GT BUT the '96 LX and GT are identical so I am going to reuse the LX booster and cylinder and hopefully no issues will result, I have the wiring done and will have the dash back in before today is over. I also decided to keep the cruise control so I had to use the accelerator pedal bracket from the GT, fortunately the wagon came with all the necessary bolt holes and clearance cuts so it swapped right in.

So the 5th is here and I don't have the car close to being done. Which means my buddy is back from his deployment overseas and will be taking his car back. Floor pan rot has been repaired. I welded in new sheet metal, slathered JB weld onto to the welds and then covered them with Rustoleum Rubberized undercoating, came out very well. Bought new carpet and well let's just say I feel that it would have been easier to just clean the old carpet. I have the interior trim pieces cleaned and assembled with stereo wiring run. Today I am going to work on swapping out the power steering and sway bar for a manual rack and ZX2 sway bar. I bought Energy Suspension bushings for everything I can. Hopefully I can get a hold of a shop press soon. Then I need to disassemble the motor so the block can be remachined (2 week wait at the machine shop) but in the meantime I can get the transmission built.

I just bought a 20 ton press and I am having trouble figuring out how to setup the spindle assembly so I can press out the bolt. Any pictures or comments would be greatly appreciated. I am working on getting the Energy Suspension bushings installed

I ran into a small problem. I was removing the passenger control arm and one of the captured nuts inside the body broke off as I was unbolting the control arm bracket. I had to dremel off the head but now I have to figure out how to make a new captured nut in the body, I managed to get an old ball joint splined stud inside the body and protrude through the hole and welded it in place.

I have the parts stripped off my EGT. Due to the nature of my garage it wrks best to do one end at a time. I am going to finish the suspension up front then flip the car around and do the rear suspension and brakes

I ordered a 3rd gen front subframe so I can use the 25mm sway bar, and that doesn't get here until Wednesday. In the meantime I have been painting up the control arms and what not and cleaning the engine bay and wheel wells. This is the original subframe that I found out isn't compatible with the 25mm sway bar after I refinished it

Yeah while you're at it, it's a great time to re-finish up the whole suspension/chassis for the life of your car, bummer on that subframe though, you know I think you could just use a 24mm sway bar from a Gt. I was thinking about doing a rear disc brake swap and beefing up my suspension in the near future, so just keep us posted with some pics and info
