i haven´t started digging yet. but first i just wanted to know that they bolt in with out too much of a hassle. heard they fit right in. also wanted to know what year mx3 seats fit. i don´t know a hole hell of alot about an mx3. never been in one, so it makes it alittle harder to know how the seats bolt in. seen them in some of the other guys seats and they look really good. getting very interested in them and got a big check coming ( worked alot of overtime ). time to go shopping

Ah, overtime...I miss it since going salaried... Something to keep in mind, the seats from an MX-6 might fit. I had the GT model and it had 12 way adjustable seats. Those might fit in a GT. Oh, and the cool thing the driver seat is powered. Had a button on the seat which would move the side bolster support to help you stay in better. That could pretty easily be fabricated on the GT. All you´d need is a 12 volt supply because the mechanicals are in the seat itself.

MX3 fronts are a direct swap. The rear takes a little fabricating. I did this swap a couple months ago. The MX# seats are WAY better than the escort seats. As for MX6 seats, they will bolt right into a probe, but you need to mod the rails to fit and escort. Here´s a link to my seat swap, with pics too- seat swap

Just for information, I noticed that Recaro is trying to recapture some of the aftermarket seat business with lower prices. The entry level seat (the SE, I believe) is terrific and the price is down to about $299, or so.

Are there any seats that are NARROWER in the back? I mean, the stock GT seats are great, but they´re designed for fatass people or bouncers at club in vegas. They´re way too wide. The wings on the sides of the seat only catch my body when I´ve slid halfway across the seat itself...

as you can see, I´m not the huskiest person in the world:

so I slide around a bit, and it really sucks because I have to brace myself with the steering wheel, and it´s hard to steer and braceoneself at the same time. So I was thinking about a 4 pt harness or something to hold me down, cause I don´t know how I will deal with it if I´m autocrossing this summer and sliding all around the car...

The mx3 seats are much better than the stock ones if you are skinny. I myself am 6´ 150lbs and they hold me in pretty good. A heck of a lot better than the flat stock seats. I got lucky and got mine for $90 for the fronts and back, but I would say pay up to $150 for good condition front ones.

Mine are the earlier style, I think from a ´92. I believe it was late ´93 when they changed the design of the seats to a differnt style with a adjustable headrest. I personally like the ones I got much better. Yes I would say $150 for a pair of fronts in good condition is a reasonable price.
