Hi!

I am having very rough running/bucking problems with my 99 Escort/SOHC. Had it scanned at a local shop, they say "Multiple cylinder misfire". No code number.

I swapped out a coil pack from a friend & no change, if anything it is actually worse. The plugs look very good. A google search for the problem turned up a Crankshaft Position sensor as possibly the culprit.

Where to go from here? What other tests should I perform before spending money on parts that I don't need?

Thanks! :)

I forgot to mention in prev. post - I pulled the plugs & they look fine, no deposits on them, & don't appear to be running lean. Didn't have a chance to check resistance of the wires yet.

Judging from the condition of the plugs, I don't feel that new ones would solve the problem.
