I am thinking about getting 2.5 in. mandrel bent piping from that cat to the muffler with the regular muffler, nad a performance one. Will the size of the piping effect anything like performance or anything? Thanks so much.
Um, go all the way... Are you trying to increase breathing? Keeping the stock muffler with enlarged piping is not good... Big bottle neck... Do it right, and see a good gain (I assume).
and I have exhaust questions too...I like the CTA motorsports offering for cat back but isn´t it alittle expensive? How/where do I go for a good high flow cat. I want the whole system to be rust proof if possible. Then there is that stupid flex pipe. can you get that in a bigger size or no...
If you put the large piping with the stock muffler your throwing your money out the window because like rocket said "bottleneck." It´s still going to restrict airflow. Go with the performance muffler.
Here´s some more advice. I used to have all 2.25" piping and it was great, but the minute I went axle-back with 2.5" I started to loose some torque...but gained a few horses. Unless you´re going turbo I would actually recommend 2.25" cat-back.
And for the muffler...yeah, youre better off getting a performance muffler and bolting it to the stock piping then getting piping and no muffler. Can´t afford it all at once?, then just get the piping and go without the muffler for a week or so
