This is the OE PCV Valve for some Escorts:

Item is made of plastic. I tried blowing through it in both directions, and air only went in one direction. There is no country of origin information on it, but the box does say printed in USA. I bought it off an Amazon seller Free Shipping Auto Parts for $8.39 (I see them listing it for a higher price now) and it was shipped from Wallington, NJ and I ordered in on a Friday and got in the next Monday. I will upload my pictures to Amazon since they currently have a generic picture that's wrong.

From what I could tell from shopping around for this item, I am tempted to think that there might not be very many of these left to buy new.

I finally got around to testing my old after market PCV valve (I wanted to clean it first). Yes the aftermarket one you can blow through it in both directions, it just blows better in one direction. So everything I read on the internet about this is most likely true. Plus my car hasn't stalled out since I installed the new one, and it's been almost a week.

I tried an EV-229 on my 3rd gen. I haven't driven it much but so far it seems to have made a subtle difference in responsiveness to small throttle changes making it easier to maintain speed.
