i have a 91 escort 5 sp the motor blew at 5000rpm in 2nd gear it was not smoaking or making any noise at all. do you think i should put a 2.0 in how hard would it be to do that and what all do i need

WHAT were you doing at 5000RPM in second gear? :eek:
You long since passed your usable torque curve IMHO. :mad:

Go for it! Drop in a 2.0L and call it a day... :roll:

Yeah but geeeeezzzz, the 1.9L really likes the 2500-4000 range and you'll never blow em with those RRRRR's. :lol:

yes the moter did blow ther is a hole through the front of it and two in the oil pan but i have looked around and found me a 98 2.0 for 350$ so im just going to get that and see how it works..

I only got two holes in my motor when my valve seat dropped. But then again, I was probably only doing 2000RPM's.

For the 98 motor to work you will NEED the fuel rail from a 97 motor. It won't work without that.
