oooooooooookay....here we go..

i´ve started doing body work to my car.....i removed the roof rack for da skiis...but, now, i don´t know what i show do w/ those 2 black stripes that go down both sides of the roof?? could i putty the cervaces, and sand it down and what not? or leave them in? what is there purpose?
now the painting?
i can´t afford my subaru blue paint job right now, so should i just go out and buy like 12 cans of primer and just primer the living hell outta my car???would that be better??

weld some metal strips that cover the roof gutters (the part with the black strips. then sand down smooth then primer. thats what i would do. dont bondo over that area. it would 1) take alot of bondo to fill it in and 2) would crack eventually.

Do as he says, then primer it. I think it might take 13 cans ;-) But primer as much as you can. get a uniform color goin so that the paint job, if not done right, won´t show different shades of the blue when completed.
