Who has run slicks for example on thier GT, midly modified. I plan to run the GT in a few weeks, has header, cat back with gutted cat, custom intake with K+N, and will have the slicks with. I´ve been drag racing much more powerful FWD cars for years but this will be my first Escort GT, would like to hear others experiences. This cars best on streets by the previous owner and 2 attempts by myself is [email protected] I feel confident I could get the car to 15.7s the way it sits, anyone else done it?

What kind of 60ft times have some of you gotten on streets and slicks? My experiences have been 2.2-3s on streets and 2.0s on slicks.

What mph are some of you running with mild mods?

Best ETs?

Any serious drag racers on here? Gutted, nitrous, and so on?

Personally almost all stock (more into autocross myself). However Denis and/or josh anderson will be the ones with the quickest cars right now. I think josh is hitting 11´s? someone correct me if I´m wrong and denis never leaves his alone long enough to get numbers!!

I raced mine at the track once. Right after I bought it before doing any mods. I ran a 17.somthing pretty consistently. I was happy though that I got my best reaction time ever in my Scort. I raced my Mustang like every Friday when it was running, but my reaction times were always half a tick off, but I nailed the light perfect twice in the 4 times I ran my Scort that night. I was happy.

So there are no hardcore drag racers on here, guess I´ll be the first. I´m thinking I may run the car next weekend the 13th depending on heat.

As soon as I can get my act together I have some plans in the works for my 94 gt. Drag racing has always been my favorite. I have always worked on and played with old V8 detroit iron. this will be the first four cylinder build up for me and my partner in crime. I will let you all know how things go, we are going to try and do it in stages. most likely like this:
1st stock
2nd header, exhaust, cold air intake,
3rd half mil punch on the block, P&P´d head, perhaps some fuel system upgrades and fuel mgmt system.
4th better clutch, turbo, any fuel system mod i forgot in the last stage.
5th the all important joy juice!

the reason we are going to try this in stages is so we can get a good feel for what the value of each part is. btw stock is stock on a cherry 230,000 mile engine never been touched so this might be a little dissapointing.
