Whats happending peeps, I'm still very depressed to see erdt go...I constantly try to go on there with no success...I saw some old timers from erdt posting on here though so I thought I give yall a holler! Well I still got my yellow cort....is doing much better now check:

Anyways since the last time I have posed on any forum I have done alot of performance stuff to my cort as I promised...I will do everything possible to this car, cosmetically I have come to an end but performance wise I want to pep this beast up a little.

Here is what I got her so far:

EFP Hi-FLo Fuel Filter
EFP performance 180 degree thermostat
EFP 50% UDP racing pulley
EFP SPI controller
Custom Cold air intake with the engine bay floor cut out for better and colder air flow
Head Ported, polished and matched
3 angle valve job

And here comes the best part:
A garrett T3 custom turbo kit with a custom turbo manifold, 3 inch downpipe etc etc., no intercooler yet, stock exhaust system except for a axle back exhaust canister (will be replacing if turbo is to be put on) I'm looking for shops that could turbo charge my car up until now they ask for high prices as much as 1000 bucks just to put it in, I will see what I am going to do, I DO NOT HAVE MONEY TO RUN ENGINE MANAGEMENT I wish I could run it though, if you have any more suggestions on the turbo project post it here please...ciao...MOBMAN!!!

Engine managment with boost is a requirement not an option. So if you cant afford some kind of fuel management, than you cant afford a blown motor either. :wink:

MS is infinetly superior to using an ECU and a chip (btw the ECU in the escorts won't take chips either). But you're thinking an FMU or a piggyback. MS will beat out most of the piggyback systems out there.

Also, if you go with MS, you can KEEP your stock injectors and add in bungs to your lower intake runners for new injectors. Dual sets of injectors will beat out a single set of injectors in both efficiency and accuracy of charge in most cases. It's cheaper too.

Agreed. I really like megasquirt. I've never used it, but I've read a lot about it, and I intend to buy one eventually. Marclar's the guy to talk to on feoa about it. The forums over on the MS website are great too.

Just the 91-96 Escort GT Mazda ECU will not take a chip. The LX's will, I should know, I have a superchip pluged into the port on my 96lx.

Yes a stand alone will give you better control over a piggy back or FMU. But a stand alone is'nt nessacarly better then a MIC (MAF/Injectors/chip). There are a few new chips on the market that come with a burner and easy to use soft ware for half the price of most stand alones.
You gotta admit plugging in a chip in the side of your ECU sounds a lot nicer than rewiring your motor. That and to put it back to stock, just unplug it.

If you still think a standalone is better then MIC, then tell that to focaljet, go ahead I dare you. :twisted: lol

I seen a pic of a 3rd gen SPI and I have a Diablo chip on mine. So using the powers of observation, I gave my real world input. And in my experance it works well, Diablo chips are also selectable.. 1. stock, 2. their version of a high octane performance tune. 3. custom tune, that you send in specs and they will tune it. Works very well for my No2 (wet shot) and mods.. It is selectable on the "fly", so the ecu recalibrates on each cycle using the new input from the chip.

lool. btw doors are shaved and some racing seats are on their way.
