this happened last week....stay tuned.....

alright, i was on my way home from dinner, coming from robinson...if your familiar with 60,moon, and 65....so, i was going down 65 away from sewickley, i got behind a nice silver lancer.......a newer model not sure on the yr.......so, we both get off at the same exit, on glenfield...i see him gun it off the exit....so, i was like dickhead, this is a residential neighborhood...so i slowly caught up to him.....we got onto the on ramp of 79 north.....i rode his ass all the way up the ramp...
i swung into the fast lane, and we both punched it.........at 1st he got 2 cars on me.....than around 80-85, i started walking him.......caught up,and when my rear bumper was his front.....i ran outta room, and called it victory...than....we kept going, i got behind him, and he merged into the other lane, and i passed him, and he rode my ass to cranberry...so i was like....ok lets go......punched same thing 85, i started gaining ground....

all in all, i´m not impressed with this lancer 2.0...it´s slow, and you know it´s slow when an 89 buick electra limited ed. 3.8l beats the shit outta ya with the slipping tranny....hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Lets see isn´t the lancer a 4 banger? and the buick is most likely what a 6 er. That is pretty impressive that your buick can keep up with the new lancer. Next tme you race a lancer try and get some tape of it and let us judge who wins.
No offense but it seems a little bit like me claiming victory for beating a 03 Audi of the line, in my 94 lx. What I don´t have to tell you is that the driver didn´t exactly know how to drive stick to well.
Good luck flame
Lots of 3.8Ls are slower than some inline fours. check out my posts about the Mustang V6 and then the Chevy Malibu V6 (I believe is a 3.1L). I killed them both. The Lancer is slow as hell. it´s got 120 hp and like 125 lb ft torque. and it weighs roughly the same as the 2nd gen EGTs. I don´t believe that it could possibly keep up with the 2nd gens.
Ok I just looked up a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer´s times: 0-60: 9.3 1/4 mi: 16.9 so by far it is a lot slower than the 2nd gen EGT, yet its faster than the 2nd gen LX models (1994: at 11.1 seconds 0-60). Still for a light weight sports car, especially with the name Lancer, that is pathetically slow. I can´t wait till they bring the Lancer EVOLUTION model to the states, that is going to tear my dream car (the WRX) to pieces. Until they finally bring the WRX STi to the states

Specs for the Lancer:
Standard on all cars: 2.0L I-4 16Valve SOHC producing [email protected] rpm 130lbft torque @ 4250 rpm, redlining 1000 rpms sooner than 2nd gen EGTs, at 6000 rpms.
ES comes in MT/AT
LS in just AT
O•Z® Rally comes in both MT/AT
It´s not really meant to race, it´s an economy car. Built for gas mileage for those people on a really tight budget. (City/Hwy; MT: 27/33, AT: 24/31).

I bet the one you raced was the bottom of the price pit ES with an Automatic. Someone thought they were hot shit but really, they screwed themselves by buying that car. (if they bought it to race) Could have gotten a Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V for just a few thousand more and gotten a car that is, for starters, two seconds quicker.

the lancer evolution will be in the states as an 04 model

275Hp at 6600 rpm

265 Flbs @ 3500 rpm

5spd manual and a 5 speed manumatic tranny with shifting buttons on the steering wheel will be offered

IT WILL BE AWD but no AYC (Active Yaw Control) or ACD (Active Center Differential) but they will be offered down the road if the car is popular as options

27,000 to 29,000

all this from Car and Driver Magazine

Five and a half seconds to 60 under 30 grand??? you´re darn straight it´s gonna be popular...The WRX has basically changed Subarus image over the course of 2001. Just think of getting a Lancer which is quicker and just as sporty lookin. They´re changing the look of the WRX for next year...it´s not going to have the big round lamps anymore. In a way, I don´t mind, they won´t look like the ugly Neons anymore...

well, i still don´t know how the hell i won......i mean the 3.8 has balls and all...but, it takes maybe a good while to get the car going...i mean we didn´t do 1/4 or anything...we did maybe like 4-5 miles......so, i had momentum...but i guess i´m a little more ballsy driving my winter beater than someone with a new lancer....who knows...but still, it was a clear victory...i mean we both ran outta room
