Hey guys. I have a problem. Let me start of by saying i am a Honda man. This is the first ford i have ever owned and its making me mad. I have a 2001 Escort and it starts to miss if i drive it a long distance. When i first get in the car and drive its fine. But after awhile it starts to miss very bad. Has even died on me a few times. Ive changed the plugs an fuel filter. The fuel filter was pretty backed up and i was almost certain that would have fixed it but it didnt. I dont have any check engine lights or anything. Any ideas?

My guess would be ignition coil. It's an electronic device that heat tends to effect, so the longer you drive the hotter it gets. Could be a bad fuel pump too or gas getting too hot in the lines. I have a 93, so someone else probably will know better.
