I had a great time playing, I mean racing, at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course. Mother Nature gave us a couple of nice days. Sat was mostly sunny, low 80s with a alight breeze. Sat night was had heavy winds but amazingly no one I know of lost a canopy. Sunday was overcast and windy, but it never rained, just a couple of quick spits that never got anything wet. A week and a half earlier a weak twister came through the area and knocked down trees.

I took some pictures of race group 2 on Saturday as well as a few around the paddock.

Race group 2 had an interesting mix of cars.
It had a lot of Spec Racer Fords:

For those of you who don't know, they are powerd by a Roush built 1.9 liter from the Escort.

There were also 2 ZX2s racing in SSC (Showroom Stock C).

I've seen these cars a few times over the years.

There was an H Production Festiva:

What I saw of it, it looked like it went pretty well. Not bad for a 1.3L.

    Here's an ITB Pinto!!

Ok, there were 3 of them:

These guys run at Beaver Run, near Pittsburg PA.

There was a Pontiac Solstest in SSC:

I was excited to race on the new Toyos and wheels for my car.

Even Scrat want to drive my car.

I had to heat cycle the Toyos in Saturday's practice/qualifying session, then put the Kumhos back on for the race. I ran the Toyos all Sunday, but couldn't get them as fast the Kumhos on Sat. I had a best lap of 1:54.1 for the weekend on the Kumhos. My best was a 1:56 on the Toyos.

The excitement came in the fact that they combined race groups 4 and 5. This placed some fast company in with my group. Like this guy:

They were there getting their new driver track time. That car was LOUD!! when it went by me on my left! The exhaust on the car dumps out on it's right.

This coming weekend is at New Hampshire International Speedway. I have passes available for anyone interested.[/url]

Sweet pics! Love the Pinto and Festiva.

I went to see a track event at TMS and about fell over when I saw a Yugo race car. The wheels were so small they were about as wide as they were tall.

Mid-Ohio is a ton of fun. Looks like you were parked up by the skid pad area. Last time I was there they were running a teen driving clinic up there with the skid car - that thing was wild!

Both times I raced there they had the clinic going on. I found out that it's court 'ordered'. We were asking directions to that court house so we could be 'punished' too.
