Does anyone know what the gear ratio's are in the manual transmissions? Which one has the highest ratio in 2nd gear?

the tempo trans is taller in first, shorter in 5th. not to sure about 2nd gear tho. i did a search and found that a couple days ago.

Not quite true there, amigo. I have two Tempo trannies sitting about, both from '86. One is a CA model, the other a CV. The CA is taller in every gear. The CV is only taller in 1st, and matches the Escort GT's gearing in all others. The tranny I just took out last week was out of an '86 GT, so it was shorter in 1st vs. the LX one, and 5th gear was mildly shorter (about 30 revs difference at 70). I'm putting the CV in my car after all...I'll build up the CA in a bit and see what kind of mileage I can get if I swap it in.

oh; lol sorrry for the misleading info. i searched for ratios i think and someone had said it in a post along time ago.
