Alright this will be long. I want new exhaust...once again I have 91 EGT. All I know of is Gude and Pacesetter who makes headers. I heard the Gude is good and Pacesetter bad and that also goes for there cat back system. Thats what I heard anyway. I think I also heard that Gude makes a good cat back system. Where do I find Gude parts for sale online. Then that stupid flex pipe between cat and headers. will new headers have bigger finish diameter or won´t that happen till the cat back.

Okay you want sound...try this set up.

header...doesn´t matter; 2.25" custom aluminumized exhaust to axle then 2.5" axle back.

Then have a AirDynamic Racing duel inline muffler welded up... if you can stand the 130dB´s its awesome.

you can find AirDynamic at www.airdynamicracing.com (I think, if not try yahoo, they´re in San Diego CA)

In reality I couldn´t care less if you hear me comin as long as you can see me leavin. On my 94 I had 2.5 leading to a stock muffler sized cherry bomb and you didn´t know I was coming but you heard it either sittin still or leavin.I once heard my car when my girl was leavin and thought an open headered big block was goin by!

Well...I don´t want a real loud exhaust. I don´t want it to sound like a rice piece of crap, nor do I want it to sound like a weed wacker. If you guys have ever heard the oem exhaust on a contour SVT (i used to own one) thats what I want it to sound like...I want a full body sound not a tinny 4 cylinder sound.

I put a glass pack on my car, and it sound pretty decent. no annoying pissed off be hive sound. It´s pretty mellow at idle and when you floor it its more like a sport bike sound. And as far as being loud, I´ll just say I have been know to chirp a car alarm or two as I drive through the mall parking lot.

Oh, one more thing... It only cost me $12 (I welded it myself so labor was free) and it only weighs like 5 lbs if that, compared to some of those huge ass fart cannons that cost hundreds. As far as looks, I out a chrome tip on it, another $5-$10 and it looks just fine. If you are worried about people giving you crap when they see it, just paint it black, an it will be a lot less noticable, not too mention adding some what of a sleeper effect (besides all the noise that is) Or if you want it to look pretty, youcould take a grinder with a wire brush on it and take the red paint off and make it all shiney, they spray some clear coat on it to keep it from rusting. Just a few Low cost High performance tips from my bag of goodies.

Sorry I just notice you said not too loud. Another cheap muffler that gives a good tone and good flow is a DynoMax turbo muffler. It´s sraight through desighn is basicly like a gass pack, but it has a lot more deadening material so it make a lower more mellow tone. I use to have one on my Mustang when it was a V-6. But I opted for dual Flowmasters when I did the V8 swap. Three chamber flowmasters might work pretty good for you too. They have a nice deep sound when you hit the gas. A little more pricey, but a lot better than $200 on a chrome bee hive.

I have stock exhaust all the way to the back...until I get to my muffler. It´s a dual-tip stainless steel muffler which sounds pretty damn good too me. You can see it on my Showcase under "Rascal". It´s the last set of pics. It cost me around 200 at the time but they are alot cheaper now. It´s not welded on just clamped on....b/c if I ever get my GT Scort...it´s getting put on there.

Anybody have any new suggestions? I´m looking for a nice, very deep sound, but nothing really loud (it would be frowned upon when I move on base). I was looking at the Magnaflow mufflers and catalytic converters, and then going to have them professionally installed with custom mandrel bent exhaust tubing.

sup dude, i own a 93´LTS tracer and a 99´SVT contour.
when it came to replacing the exh for a second time i bough the pacesetter cermacoat header/ffCAT/and cat back system.
the only piece not there is the original resonator(f that thing) and i love it, you cant have too loud a system cause o´the 5-0, it´ll defly be louder then a SVT-contours exh but they use a different design for the muflers. anyway
ALL EXHAUST PIPING THESE DAYS SUCKS, METOLOGY TODAY IS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE, SO IF YOU FIND A MIENEKE OR SOME PLACE WITH ALUMINIZED PIPES GO THERE. OTHERWISE IT´S A SHOT IN THE DARK.
my original exhaust project was a dual from a 2-way C.A.T. out to 4 (yes 4) mufflers, including 2 resonated 4"tips which kept it quiet enough but it rotted away after 2 years :-| because anything after stock will not get hot enough to keep the inside of the pipes dry.
i´ll submit a pic as soon as i find and digi-it. good luck with your decision.

Nah, you have a turboed four banger that will eat a V6´s lunch. ;-)
