well for the most part the LX starts at about 88hp. I guess the key element in one is to fight weight. If you can get your full 88hp and weigh only 2300lbs you´d do better then an old 95hp honda with 2800lbs (gotta have a stereo or something but the weight is possible)

my 95 lx wagon is slow as hell whtn you´ve got two people and cargo, but when you take out the seats, spare tire, and throw in a clean air filter and some good ol 5w-30 mobil-1 synthetic oil, it´s pretty quick. Still not the fastest thing out there though. The top end of the LX sucks, but without the weight, the low end is pretty good.

I still want a gt though.

sure they´re not the speediest things around, but was the one you were in an auto? would make a world of difference. an stick for an LX is like steroids, really gives it some muscle and better control. i´ve owned quite a few non-si civics, neons, z22´s, even a 1980 trans am (was auto though).
during a local autoX event which was navigating the pylons in the dirt, i even beat out an rx7. its not just the car, the driver has a lot to do with it too. and i might have maybe 92hp with my mods so far

Has anyone turboed the 1.9L LX engine? That´d sure enough make it a lot faster!

Seems like the easiest and most common ways to get more power out of this engine is to change the intake and exhaust.
