I have an 03' ZX2 with 179,000 miles on it. The car runs fine but when I start it after its been sitting for a while I have to turn the key to the run position about 4 times to allow the fuel pump to pressurize the fuel system. If I don't do that then it takes about 5+ seconds of cranking over to start. Once it starts it runs rough for a couple seconds but then smooths out and runs fine until I shut it off again. I'm just looking for some suggestions for things to check...

You apparently have a fuel pressure bleed off. Either one of the injectors is leaking, you have a bad pressure regulator, or the fuel pump is leaking internally and not holding prime. Fuel pressure tests and blocking off lines and dead heading pump and injectors may give answer.

Can you explain what "dead heading" is?

run pump and pinch off fuel lines to stop from flowing, the pressure shouldn't drop on either side of system.
