Because of the inside out way wheels are on new cars, I am haveing a hard time to find a sharp looking set of wheels for my 94 Escort. Can any one tell me what would look good and where I can find some nice looking wheels? Does anybody make white wall tires for the size of tires the Escort uses ? I dont even know what would look nice on a little wagon, but want something sporty. Also where can I be refered to to find some nice body accessories for the Escort wagon.? Not even sure what I want and the only source I know of is that JC Withney company, I have no Idea where to look. When I was a lot younger I had all the sources for car stuff at my finger tips, but being 57 now, divorced, having a girl friend and keeping up with my day job and and house, I dont have much time to be going through wish books like I used to. The girl friend sucks up time and money but if you dont have some one nice to walk down the street with then you are nobody it seems in others eyes so that isnt much good either.
Thank you for your Help

Here's mine...

16x7 Rota Slipstreams w/ 205/45/16 Sumitomos

Just an example though.. I doubt they're what you're interested in since you're looking for whitewalls.

Got them at ZXTuner. Good prices.. but not when compared to the junkyard :? Good selection though, which cannot be said for the junkyard :? 14" or 15" wheels are probably better for your needs. The 16s and 17s make for a bit of a harsh ride.. and the styling isn't for everyone... they're certainly sporty though.

The Tirerack can't be beat for a large selection of wheels and tires. They carry most of the popular namebrand wheels and tires. The only big-namebrand tires I've found with whitewall styling in 185/65/14 (just an example) are Continental Touring Contacts which claim to have a white stripe. They may have some others in different sizes though.

Discount Tire also carries a large selection, and is the Tirerack's main competitor. It's not hard to find a local Tire shop that carries American Racing wheels which can be had for a fairly good price.

All three of these sites have application selectors so you can see what will fit on your escort.

.. what do you mean by that?

I hope that helps a little. The wishbooks you speak of have just gotten pasted on the internet and are made a little easier to sort through... so don't feel as though you're out of it. Glad to hear you're going to pick the customizing hobby back up.. it's good for the soul :D

I'm a nobody apparently. :cry:

Just because I spend 14 hrs a day working and the whole time I'm thinking about my car, doesn't mean I'm nobody. But now that it's summer I'm seeing a lot of hotties wearing basically strings walking around...I love summer. God is good to guys.

summer=hot:
hot=females walking around with very little clothes on:
females walking around with very little clothes on=good:
summer=good

See what I mean?

Women are ok, if you have a lot of moey you want to get rid of , then after they get that they will walk out on you and move on to the next sucker. So keep in mind the cost of those babs in strings befor you go for it.

I gave up on dating about a year or so ago, right after i graduated. why? I got my car...now i got car parts everywhere and every week all I can think about is "ok how much of this check can I use?"

I just want to look at the hotties in the strings. Right now anyway. :wink:

Anyone remember Felix D Catz's old EGT? Felix ran the EscortGT mailing list few years back and had a gorgeous cardinal red 93 or so EGT (Same as mine) with the factory silver aluminum swept 5-spoke wheels on 205-50-15 tires. The car was lowered (not obscenely) and had body color painted handles, mirrors and trim. No stickers or flash, just one clean, red beautiful car. That car was the centerpiece of my desires for a long long time.
Where you is, Felix?!?!?!?

Jeez. Got to ramblin about Felix's old car and forgot to reply to the darn topic. :lol:
Anyway....I think a wagon would look sharp all monotone color lowered a little with stock GT wheels and some mildly low-profile tires. NIIIICE.

Aren't you going to have your speedometer recalibrated if you change to a different wheel size?

Better just get the LX ones like from the eBay auction I mentioned. My local junkyard sells aluminum wheels pretty cheap.

What do the GT rims look like? Are they brushed aluminum? I'd sure like to have some brushed aluminum wheels for my car. I've got aluminum rims right now that came with it, but they're not brushed, they're kind of cast, and sparkly, if you know what I'm talking about. They barely even look real; most of my friends thought they were hubcaps.
