I know Ford Racing Performance Parts sells Focus SVT engines for a couple grand. Not sure about the tranny though. Would be nice to have one though

Hmmm...on a far fetch idea you could take one for a test drive and then somehow total it from a rear end damage. Figure out where the towing company is taking it...then steal the motor and tranny from that yard ?!?!?

hey I was wondring in general about the "foci".

how do they handle? It´s like a station wagon on crack- I couldn´t imagine taking this thing seriously because it looks like a crappy little family car.... correct me if im wrong. which I probably am.

You´re not thinking of putting that into your scort are you? Don´t you already have the zetec? For the price of that motor you could turbo the zetec and make double the hp of the svt engine. Whatever floats yer boat though. Ford Racing would probably be the only place to get one besides getting lucky and finding a junker.

I pulled up one day at the local Galpin Ford to check out this SVT focus they had sitting there. The Salesman walked over and said "nice huh?" I quickly responded "well all I want is the 6speed and the seats, the rest is a waste." He laughed and made a comment about how it makes so much power. I hit a little blow-off as I was flying past him when I was leaving.

Yeah I´d LOVE to get my hands on a 6 speed...thats why I liked the sentra Spec V so much. 6 speed, double synchros...man that was atight shift. That and the 17" 5 spoke aluminum wheels.

yea thats what i realy want is the six speed, i know it will bolt up to my zetec but , turboing a svt would be so much eassyer, and more fun to. id have more room for more boost i think. i figure if i could get a hold of $5,000 i can make my zetec a supra killer. got it all planed out.

what is so great about a 6sp over a 5sp? I´ve never driven a 6, but is the 6th overdrive?

I know that when I am crusin the highway at 95mph (lol) even though I don´t have a tach, I can tell that I´m in a fairly high rpm range in 5th gear in my LX wagon. I guess (intuitively) that if I had an overdrive gear then I could get better fuel efficiency?

Yeah 6th is the Overdrive. I want the 6 speed because you can get some really tight shifts out of them, even tighter than a 5 speed and you can probably get some higher speed depending on the gear ratios.

usually 5th is overdrive. 4th is a 1:1 gear.

6th is either a double overdrive, or more commonly 5th is your new 1:1 so they cram an extra underdrive gear in for more versatility and power.
