Well, to begin with, I got this car for a steal, $325. Found it on craigslist for 400, with a bried descriptiom n no photos. Was kinda sketchy at first buying this thing blindly, so I went n checked it out. The car was purchased from a guy who had bought it for his son. The funny thing is, the kid never even drove it. After the car was purchased by this gentleman, he sent it to a locally owned shop, wher it recieved new struts, rear springs in the rear, complete tune_up, 4 new tires. When he got the car home, he parked it on the street and went in to get his sone, and the car was hit by a drnk in a tracer. The rear drivers side clobbered ! Crushing, the tail light, marker, and rear bumper. Needless to say insurance conpany totaled it out. His insurance gave him 1500 n he bought the car back for 185. His loss my gain. I want to do something craazy like n svt sswap, or a v6. Anybody got any suggestions advice or ideas? If so lets build this car .

I just bought a 95 under similar circumstances. They had just installed new tires, brakes, steering, battery and etc. The day after his dad was driving the car to make sure everything was 100% and hit a deer........ Blew the air bags but the car still drove fine. It would have been a fairly easy fix but the Virginia DMV salvaged the title after the insurance company totaled the car, meaning the VIN number long exists and the car is now viewed as a pile of "mobile" parts.

Good luck with your project and glad to hear someone else out there is saving a wagon from the shredder.

I wondered what it amounted to, when our insurance company in Virginia said our wrecked Saturn would have a 'parts only' title after it was rear ended and the repairs (by a profit making collision shop) would cost more than the Kelly Blue Book Value. I didnt like it at the time, and will likely write complaints about it to the authorities in VA; our state assemblyman, state senator, and the head of the DMV.

I guess I got lucky. The recent fender bender I got into yielded me the price I paid for the car so I guess it was kind of a blessing in disguise for me since that essentially means I got the car for free!!!

having a lot of trouble uploading pic. got some good news though, may be trying to pick up a zx2 that's totaled out from my job, might have a motor swap in the near future, probably after my wedding in july. really hoping I can get the zx2 for under 450, it really just need s a lower control arm for the passenger side, air bags and an axle. just have to hope for the best

No, I'm no copy cat! That's just primer, I want to go the funky metallic purple that comes stock on the wagons. I do like the matte black wagon though.

Is the corner pic you have with it primered over what it looked like after you bondoed the rear corner that you banged out? If so nice job. Came out smooth! Must have been a lot of sanding!
