Seems many of you folk either like to buy old cars, or ya'll been driving long before I was born. Realizing that, the question then occurred to me, how did ya'll measure mileage back in the horse and buggy days? I mean, they probably measured in some form of "horse power", but what about mileage? Was it miles per bail of hay or what?? :D
Back in the day, we measured it in hectares to the hogshead.

I am at 97 cars now, I bought and sold a 00 zx2, toreador red. looking at a focus tonight!

I grew up in an automotive family (dad has been an ASE Master mechanic since 1960 and a member of NHRA since 1956, so it comes natural to me. Buying and fixing/driving older vehicles is more of a hobby. The 97 Dakota, 97 MKVIII, and now the 95 Escort are all drivers right now.

I had a zx3 at one point. haven't had a zx5 yet.
Whoops, missed that earlier post listing the ZX3.

A bit off topic, have you had a bit of trouble getting your Focuses (Foci??) to start when warm? Sometimes I have to crank the engine longer to get it to start if I've driven it recently. It's completely random on if it fails to start.

I have had extended cranking issues with almost every focus I've owned. I bought an 05 brand new and it had issues right away. my current 05 does it too. The lady I bought it from said "sometimes it doesn't start on the first try"

It appears they never fixed that, lol. I drive a '13 Focus for work with the DI 2.0L and sometimes I get extended cranking. Never misfires or runs rough, and of course no CEL. (For those without a sarcasm detector: I know they are completely different platforms now, just found it a funny coincidence)

Probably won't work on the '13 with its electronic TB, but on my '07 it seems to help if I tap the accelerator pedal. Don't know why. Didn't have to do this on the Escort.

that's just one of the reasons I usually end up selling the focus and keeping the escorts.

I've actually already got a full GT 5spd in the works now! Thanks for the info though! I saw the one at the Pull-A-Part over on National Turnpike a few months ago (if it's the same one), someone had already mangled the cams out of it and they were sitting on top, rusted to hell. Made my heart break.

What row was it in? I recall one being in 324 or so, that one is gone now. Another one that is currently in 312 or 311. A couple weeks ago, a red one came in and has an intact bumper.

Honestly I don't remember the row number. I know it was in the back right corner of the lot, facing the entrance, in the front of its "row"

I am afraid to count! I have 62 right now and have been buying, selling, swapping, junking and crashing them since 1974.
I am a Ford guy but currently have 3 Austin Healeys, 2 Volkswagens, a Dodge truck, 2 Pontiacs, a Buick and 3 Mazdas! I have some Mercurys too but they count as Fords as they are from the 60s. Wait! Except for that 91 Capri, it's just a weird little duck.

Oh, 63! Forgot I just got a 69 Cougar.
