The only seats I know of that will bolt in are MX3 seats. Aftermarket ebay buckets should fit with a universal mount without much modification.

    They look like this:

You can find them in junkyards but typically the driver seat is pretty hacked from the ones that I have found. The ones in the picture are in VERY good condition so if you find a set like this then you are very lucky. They also came in black leather.

I don't know about lighter but they definitely hold you in better than stock seats and bolt in without modification. They sit a little lower also.

Not sure on 1st gens. I have a 3rd gen and they definitely bolt in.

gen1 will be only exp as a direct swap. gen2 and 3 are all mx3 compatible.

I think the easiest way would be to find universal rail mounts and mod them to the car. Then you can mount pretty much any aftermarket seat you want.

Why not fabricate some brackets that will adapt your existing seat rails to whatever seat you want to use? Pretty sure a set of front buckets from a 1st gen GT will bolt in.

if you use the existing rails and put an aftermarket seat on it. it will likely be taller. buying aftermarket low profile sliders and fabricating a set of mounts may be the only route to go.
