every so offten my car will make a tapping sound from aroundt he top of the head will make it for a couple of days then it will go away and there is no telling when it will come back. took ti to a shop and they said a lifter was sticking to run an oil system cleaner though it and change the oil i did this and so far it hasn;t come back is it something i should be worried about? 91 lx 1.9l 5 speed 89k miles also i know the car calls for 5w30 but i am running 10w30 in it will it make a diference?

Sounds like sludge if a detergent cleared it up. How often do you change it?

i've only owned the car about a year and half but first oil change i did i waited 2000 miles and changed it then waited like 2500 miles and i've yet to change it again i only drive like 3-400 miles a month i do change the oil pretty reualtor

Add a 1/2 pint of STP to it and run it. :lol:

One other thing: I suggest Motorcraft or Wix/Baldwin filters only...
