I want to see what it would look like with a clean smooth trunk, soo..

This first one is how the image of my escort started.

Then I played and got this. not as good as I hoped it would come out but not to much work.

The only problem is, what is the best way to smooth out the trunk to get that effect? A friend of mine suggested bondo, any suggestions ideas?

This last one was a pain in the ass and it was just to see what the car would look like without the spoiler...

I, personally, think it looks terrible. But maybe it would look better if it were paint matched and not "flat"

I like it better with the spoiler, but it would definely look better if you had a perfect match on the paint. Another thing to consider, would it be legal to remove the 3rd brake light on a car that came equiped with it from the factory? Even if it was legal in one state it might no be legal in all states which might pose a problem if you were ever travelling out of state.

Well I am keeping the spoiler for sure that's not the the question, I just wondered how it would look (I like it with) I do like the back face to be smoothed with out the cracks or gaps whats the best way to fill the gaps like i said some one said i could use bondo but i'm not sure if that would be the best way to go.

In 1986 a national law was passed that all vehicles be equipped with a 3rd brake light, although I find it funny that rarely anyone replaces them/knows how.

You could get a 3rd brakelight out of a car that has no spoiler.

To make your "chop" a little more relistic use a dodge tool or something to make the bottom dark and the top light (not much) and maybe insert a image into a new layer, set blending mode to overlay and the opacity to 10 or so, that'll add reflections.

They're from some Evo. They also have a plain trunk lid. The lights look like they would actually fit the body line with enough bondo and a big enough hammer.

those evo lights looks fresh as hell but i would not put the 3rd gen reflector on there. i'd spray tint the 2nd gen middle reflector tho. now THAT would be sick!

Yea, it was just a thought. The only concern I had about the 2nd gen reflector, is that the Evo lights are round. Maybe a black trim layer could be applied under the lenses, then tint over them. I'll prolly take a stab at it tomorrow (in ps that is)

EDIT: I've been on a long road trip, which means two things. Very Intermittent internet access, and staring at the backs of alot of cars:
