I am thinking about putting two thin LED light bars into one of my wagons rear bumper as backup lights. these would be flush with the bumper. So, do you think it is feasible? I hate seeing hanging LED lights on cars, looks cheap.

Remember how much dirt anything on the back of the car can pickup - so the lightbar will need to be made so that you can clean it easily.

Check the lumen output of the lightbars. The ones I've seen don't put out much.

I want the LED housings in side the bumper with the lens/lights flush flat with the bumper. That should keep them pretty clean. LOL!

Thanks for your input. The wagon I want to do this with Leds has smoked tail lights, so any light back there is better than what I have now.

The problem i see is the bumper cover and bumper it self are molded together so might be tricky. I planned on getting a truck light bar and putting it between lift gate and bumper

I was thinking of placing the truck light bar where the front bumper opening is.

Thanks for the input, you guys have some killer ideas. Been thinking of slaving two red LED bars off the license plate lights and installing them one on each side of the hatch handle. This would cover up the wiring and mounting brackets. These would just act as visionary marks. As for the two BMW back up lights, I will be mounting the BMW lights, flush with the rear bumper, giving it a clean look. Going into the rear bumper and hooking up in the rear lights, is a pretty easy job to do. I will post before and after pics.
