wait, i don´t even know if the gauge lights are led lights...but i´m assuming they are. well anyway, another thing on my car´s growing list of problems, one of the damn lights behind the gauges burnt out. it´s like kinda halfway between my speedometer and my tachometer that´s dark, the speedo needle is dark as well a past around 70 mph to like 3000 rpm.

how can i fix this? could it just be a fuse, or is it the light? if it´s led, how the hell did it burn out? and is it hard to pull out the dash (if i have to to fix it)? this really sucks i can´t tell how fast i´m going at night.

I don´t know for sure but the third gen and second really aren´t that far apart in reference to the gauges. i took the gauges out on my 97 and painted the devider parts, anywho, it wasn´t that hard to take out and the hanes manual does have a step by step guide on how to do it, it took me about 25 minutes my first time, mostly because i was afraid of the air bag, but as long as you disconnect your battery you should be okay

I´m not surprised that they lasted this long, my 89 hasn´t had one go out yet. Here´s what I was thinking about doing.I´m gonna remove the clear plastic cover over the guages, get some blue 194´s and sockets and install em behind the plastic, then tint the plastic cover and replace it so when the lights go off all you will see is a gloss black panel.what do ya think?

I wouldn´t run em through the stock lighting as the stock switches can barely handle what little power they put out already.I have had to replace em in alot of scorts due to melt down.So a simple toggle will be used then I´d turn on the switch. My bigger concern is sun glare but as most of my windows are blacked out it shouldn´t be too bad.I´ll probably tint it a little at a time and try it out as I go.

oh ok i helped my friend put in his indiglo gauges today...did most of the work, but he took most of the stuff apart, but anyway now i know where the lights are (in the back of the cluster) so now all i gotta do is find a replacement and take off that dash piece and instrument cluster so i can change the bastard.

Indiglo are cool but I like to be different. It really sucks though when I do something like my headlights then they make a kit to do the same thing. It would have saved me alot of the time and trouble of developing my own.I´m sometimes tempted not to post my ideas for just that reason but I guess as long as it is you guys.I´m seeing more and more first gens who have copied my headlight styling(they probably bought the damn kit)But it´s kinda cool because I know where they got the idea.I have sold two like that and still have two but I have seen like five others in the last month. No one has my tail lights yet but I think that´s just because of the difference in years they can´t copy them unless they have an 89-90.
