1997 Escort sedan... with a leaking windshield. Anyone here have any luck with "home" remedies, such as urethane sealants, or whatever, in sealing one? The general consensus is that the only "correct" way is to remove and replace it.. what do you all think..? Thanks..

The true correct way is to remove the windshield and reseal it. You could try some silicone sealant on the area that is leaking.

i've used rtv red silicone in the past :lol: if its a long piece that needs resealing its best to take it off

Are you sure that it's leaking from the windshield? If it's coming into the passenger floorboard, then it might be coming in the HVAC vent.

Otherwise, yes, I've sucessfully sealed a windshield by applying clear sealant on the outside. Didn't look pretty, but it did work.
