I will tell you that there are none left to my knowledge in Athens Co. The only big yard left, Landot, has never let you pull and now that the kid is running it they barely even want to talk to average guys. He's more interested in dealing with shops and locator services.

Purdin's near hillsboro ohio on rt. 50, but unfortunately, I get a hold of the escort parts before most people get to! But again, too many totalled escorts and all the tracers have f*ed up front ends!

    Re: g

Went there yesterday. They are a bigger JY that holds on to the cars but not very well laid out. No stacking. No fee to enter. There were about 15-20 Tracer/Escorts of all gens and trims. One EGT with pwr moon/sun roof, no pw/pl, still had the rear end complete. One ZX2 basically gutted. Most of these cars had little to nothing worth getting. I did find one Tracer that had straight body parts but wrong color, and when I asked for pricing (I pull), the prices were higher than expected they would be, BUT, if it was the right color to match my Tracers, I would've paid b/c I've been looking since last fall.

Anyone have other good JYs in the S, SW, SE parts of Ohio?
I'm especially looking for Tracer body parts with EL paint code.

How bout Central OH. possibly looking to move op that way from East coast of NC i the next year or so, and I want to make sure I'll be able to find a you pull it with a good price range.

BTW, I found one about 3 hrs from where I live here in NC, and on Saturdays it's $30 to get in, and if you can carry it to the weght station, it's $10 to leave with it! That's Southern style there!!!!

Depends on what you're calling central Ohio.
I drive about 80-85 miles one way from Athens to get to a good JY in Columbus. They are a corporate place so they have a price list posted that is relatively fair IMO.
I don't know of any JYs that have deals like you mention, nothing close. That JY I referred to has a few days a year with across the board discounts, but they're few and far between and they only radio advertise it a few days before it happens and I don't get radio reception of those stations where I'm located.

While half asleep last night I saw a commercial on a
Cincinnati TV station advertising a U-Pullit place. I will
have to pay attention and see if it advertises on the
    TV again.

    Which place did you call?
Also, I will tell you this, the big corporate JYs like the Pick-n-Pull or U-Pull-It don't answer calls, it is just a message because they do not do parts look-up or inventories usually. They want you to put your dollar down and go look.

dude, I don't mean to be an arse, but if you called the place you must know the name and location.
A lot of guys looking at this might be from all over, like me in Athens, so they may not be aware of "that place"...
Anyway, name and location and # if you have it.
Also, I've never heard of a place that charges $10 just to get in. Now I have heard of places having a minimum charge like that, but most parts would get to that anyway.

Thats cool, It don't have to be like mine.
What I like to do for JY's is, by chance, if it's in a major city where they do alot of arial photos regularly, I google earth them, and that way I got arial photos of the area, and I can use that photo to keep my bearings while I'm looking. GOD! I LOVE TECHNOLOGY!!!!!

if you want to come a little south from ohio into northern kentucky we have a few. Also there is a large junkyard in the cincinnati area on kellog avenue from 275. If you are heading to kentucky on 275 you take a right onto kellog, then the jy will be on your right. In northern kentucky the only pull it yard i know of is besslers. They dont have many escorts.

I'm hoping to hit at least one J/Y when I get up to Ohio for the first week in August. I want engine parts. I could use some body parts. Preferably I would like to get Wagon rear sway bar, GT rear spindles, And if I'm lucky, some sideskirts of any kind. Maybe some of the parts for the "Jeffscortlx everyday driver" turbo project. I'm at wits-end looking for parts in the local J/Y's here in NC! They got squat here and charge too much to get in. The price I was told was a special price for my friend!

There is a yard South of Xenia Ohio on Route 42. Xenia is just East of Dayton. It is a pretty good size yard. Been there since I can remember, used to go there back in the 50's.
They do not advertise as a you pull it yard. But they have let people go back and pull stuff. They usually quote a price like $40 my guy pulls, $30 you pull. Nice group of guys as long as you are nice to them.
Called: Dayton Xenia Auto Wreckers. IT is on Route 42 across from the Harley dealer. Anyone wants more info on them, PM me. I will give complete address and a phone number.
