today i went back to my local junkyard and asked about the mx3 seats, they said 300 for them again, i said i knew some people that got them for 30 which was you guys. anyway i kept trying to get them down and they wouldent budge, finally they said 100 each, after that i just walked out. No body will buy those damn seats for 300, they are crazy. I am going down to the bay area next week, hopefully i can find them and get a deal on them.

if you dont find any other mx seats, in a few weeks, you should go back to that junkyard to see if the seats are still there. if they are, try and make another offer on them. make it an issue that "since no one else has bought 'em yet". that may help, if they don't budge, i don't know what else to tell you. start looking on ebay i suppose.. 8)

I don't understand their logic either. I mean there is a huge junkyard here in Maryland (Brandywine) that will probably charge me more for one part than they paid for the whole car. They might even have the power windows I've been looking for, but I think they want close to $300 for everything I'd need (so no deal). Same with bumpers. Most places want $200-$300 for them. I can get all I want at the U-pullit for $43

Seriously - just find a new junkyard.

My friend Mike just bought 2 seats out of an Integra for $45. That's for the pair.

I doubt you'll find a deal on ebay, because unless they're brand new seats, shipping will probably be more than the actual seats. :)

Good luck!

we usually find them cheap, and i mean real real around 40-50, especially good if you go on half price day, normal price here for bumpers have ran my 40 bucks for a gt bumper,
i think my buddy got a leather wraped steerign wheel, gt front and rear, and skirts and still had change from a 100

The best places to find are the places where you pull it. I know one place in general "U Wrench it" and there are quite a few of those out there. Thast where i do all my shopping... With the exception of anything that has to do w/ drivetrain and powertrain. Its best to go to places where they are already pulled because they usually have mileage information and whatnot for you.

where i get all my stuff they ask $20 per bumper. $20 for a pair of seats. $10-20 for a rim. that is if you pull it yourself..

then, you could just steal the seats..

seriously, stealing stuff from a junkyard is not hard at all. especially for things larger than fuses to hold your cupholder down.

if that place is guarded well, have you and a buddy carry a seat to the front of the place like you're going to buy it, while having another friend on standby waiting in a truck or van (with the license plate covered). then, RUN!!!!

after that, i dont think you would want to come back to that jip of a yard anyway. so it's not like banishment is a big price to pay.

and im sure that 6 months later, they won't even remember your face.

just an idea..

I thought of that but its a place where they pull it, and its fenced pretty good all around, anyway the only things I can steal is fuses and little interior peices lol.

(maybe at night i can hop over the fence, theres no alarms out side, hmmmmmmm)

There's a ghetto yard where I live...

I remember I needed the tachometer for my 91GT (rest its soul) and they let you wrench your own stuff there. Anyway, I COMPLETELY DESTROYED the dash to get to that tach. I'm so freakin lazy. Man, I broke the hell out of that car. lol.

All the cars in that shethole are escorts and old chryslers. People are so freakin poor where I live.

Not a single BMW, lexus, even acura. I've looked. Yeah, potsdam ny sucks. Don't go there. ever.

Don't know where to post this exactly, but yesterday I saw a perfectly good black EGT rear bumper (from a 1991). It was tempting, but the side skirts were already gone so I didn't think it would look good on my LX all by itself.

Some yards are in areas where there is little or no competition nearby. They will not sell you the seats cheap because they prefer to lose a customer here and there because it means people will know their price is firm. People get used to it and pay when their chairs are ripped or damaged in some other way. Those type yards are not for people who just want to change their seat look. It used to be that way here but we now have so many yards in the city that there are cheap places. Strangely enough, there are still places that charge a lot.
