for months now ive been trying to convince my girl to get a gt, or any escort for that matter. finally she broke down and said if i can find her the color she wants and all the options, same ones as i have, she'll get one.
I have a 95 Caymen green Scort, looks almost new ith 50k on it. bought it this past march. she wants the purple scort gt they got out there, but with the sunroof, which i got, and an automatic. I have the 5 speed. Didnt know really how hard it was looking for one. I had an 95 lx couple years back, sold it after buying my chevy. I love my gt and would like to see her get one. anyway, any you guys/gals seen this purple scort gt color floating around, or is it rare?

this purple one is rare, theres one sitting at my local mechanic shop, it looks like a purple 96 (due to the rims) and its been sitting there forever, im gonna ask him what the deal is with it today, its an automatic, and in pretty nice shape.
All I have to say is that beggars can't be choosers...
With tastes that picky, I'd be looking to buy a new car. And yes, they're very rare. And I'd teach her to drive stick. What kind of taste do you have in women anyways?! ;-)
yeah, i remember seeing not one, but two purple ones a few months ago that never sold within 50 miles from where i live (elyria, ohio). both were purple, had sunroofs, but i think they were both stick and had some miles on them. im sure they havent sold yet at all.
When I was looking for a nice Cayman GT, I searched high and low. After a search of over a year and a half, i gave up. I can't tell you how many black, white, red, blue, and other colors I seen. never a green one worth a crap.
I ended up getting a 1996 GT Toreador Red. I did not want that color, but the price was right and it matches my Sport Trac. it looks really nice when I tow the EGT on my trailer with the tow vehicle matching the Escort.
Just a stupid question, but did they ever even make an automatic GT??? After all of my test drives and looking around, I have yet to come across one that's not standard!
Why would they do that? LOL! What is the use of an auto in a "sports" car!!! If you want a sports car, learn to drive it like a sports car!!!!! but this has got off topic, this is my last comment on this post! but if you want, I can keep my eye open for an escort matching that description here, only problem is I'm not in the US
well since then ive talked to her and she said she'll take any color. i was lucky when i found my 95 egt in march wit only 48k on it. real clean too, owned by some old broad. she liked my caymen green one. personally ive seen the purple one in pics and would love to get one. pretty sick and rare car. ive driven a 93 caymen gt w and auto cuple years ago when i had my 95 lx, and drove a pink? gt with a stick. ugly pink paint. what's

You can, on the other than, buy some pretty hot Porsches and Corvettes w/ automatics.. but not the GT2 and not the Z06.
Lets not forget, there are people who are physically not able to drive a manual.. yet still want to drive a sports car. Being snobbish about driving manuals can be rude to people who are already having a tough time dealing with a disability.
So, until I lose the use of one of my legs, I'll take my cars w/ manuals, please.
There's always options, there's a guy in my town here who drives a really nice decked out truck, he can't drive using an actual gear shift, but he's got the shift paddles, as well as the gas and brake by a paddle of some sort (probably similar to that of a motorcycle - he has no use of his legs, and because of this, the government will modify whatever vehicle he purchases so that he can use it).

i understand ya guys believe me, but you have to realize, Shes paying for it. If she wants an auto, shes not gonna pay for a stick. I hear ya, i got a 5 spd and love it, but i aint gonna tell her what to get. its her car, im just trying to help her out.
There was a guy on the EGT mailing list that put a turbo on his Automatic Tranny EGT. We all amde out comeents on why we think he was stupid. Then he showed us pictures of his other "ride". It was a wheelchair.
Needless to say, we understood his reasonings for "wanting" and automatic tranny.
