Car did not sell. Note that IIRC it did say US $2,495.00 or best offer. Having written that, the best offer feature on eBay is next to useless since in my experience they won't discount much.

I've gotten some good deals with the best offer button.

I figure that saying 'best offer' is a way to say you will be willing to sell it, outside of the realm of ebay rules and regs and fees. But at least you get loads of free publicity. Its the seller that decides what offer to accept.

I bought a set of service manuals for a 94 Saturn SL2. The ebay seller was in the business of selling manuals and OEM tools. He asked $150 for the 14 volume set. I offered $75, and he countered with $85, and I got them.

I've gotten 50 cents off as their counteroffer.

I've gotten that too. Unless you really want it and no one else has it, wait for a better deal.
Or make a second offer. Maybe they'll offer 60 cents off!
