Not really. I will walk to lunch on my breaks at work though, weather pending. I will try to run errands before work or classes to avoid extra trips as well.

It means less money going into my retirement savings so of course it's affecting me.

It affects everyone whether you realize it or not. When transportation costs go up, it is added to the cost of goods.

I have stopped putting any money into my Suburban unlees it's to keep it running.

Im not changing my driving habits much, but will be trying to cut back on gluttony.
About once a month folks would stop at the driveway to the lot where I work on my cars, and ask if one or any of them were for sale. Now its happening more often. They never ask if the F350 is for sale, they ask about the the small cars: the Hyundai Excel, the Ford Escort, the VW Jetta. Down here they always open the conversation in Spanish too. Maybe I should put up a sign saying: "No Se Vende. Lo Siento".

I would put of that sign. The reason they are asking is because the used car lots don't have anything that's remotely fuel efficient since they sell right away. Don't take my word for it, just look at what's in the car lots when you pass them.

It never hurts to learn, whether it's cars or grammar.
Lifting heavy things is a plus too.

When I was driving my 99 malibu I was. Now that's broke sitting in my garage. I bought my scort to replace it and I'm loving my mileage. I drive 40-50 miles a day to work and the gas gauge has barley moved in 3 days. Guess it was a good time for my Malibu to break down.

I am very much agreed with EscorGo... I think transportation is very much related to the cost of goods. When transportation cost is go up then cost of goods will be already increase and it will affect among everyone...

Sure anytime energy costs increase whether it's gas, diesel, electricity, etc. it's going to affect the cost of making the product or transportation of the product and that cost is going to be passed on the consumer in higher prices for the goods. At least the price of gas has dropped by about $ .10-.20 per gallon here in the past few weeks, I just hope it continues to fall.

My 87 diesel escort has been sipping on biodiesel I have been making for it the past several years. When I started driving diesel was only $0.97 a gallon, and now it's pushing $4 where I am.. At least the bio helps! Maybe these prices will go down, eventually.
