Yep. I've got them on my 93 EGT. Ive had them on for about three years now. I bought them used from a guy on the EGT mailing list. They had really low miles and were practically in new condition.
I like them quite a bit. They do have a stiff ride, but they arent nearly as jarring as the weapon R coilovers my brother had on his 93 EGT. I used them with the stock struts for a short time but am using the Tokico SR struts now. I dont autocross, so I cant really give a lot of detailed technical information as to how they perform, but they really feel solid under the car. I have 17" wheels and use 205/40/17 tires. I always had quite a bit of understeer even with the springs, but the new 1" rear swaybar got rid of a lot of that. I think the right choice in tires might help that a lot more. I did seem to get a bit more road noise after installing them, but that is expected with a stiffer spring. I dont imagine they ride any harsher than any other performance spring, but I havent heard really anything bad about them. The car handles pretty amazing as far as Im concerned and it can perform maneuvres that it never could before with the stock suspension. The rear sway bar made a dramatic difference in cornering performance but the springs alone made the car a lot more responsive and eager to handle high speed turns.
The car looks great on them. They are supposed to give about 1.75" of drop all the way around, but I think they settle in quite a bit over time. Id have to say I easily have 2" of drop over stock. I did have to trim the rear fender lip after I installed them to keep the tire from rubbing, but only a quarter inch of the lip was plenty sufficient. My only complaint with fixed performance springs is that I cant adjust ride height. The car looks great and sits perfectly level with the Intrax springs, but I really would like to get the nose about a quarter to a half inch lower, if only for cosmetic reasons. I suppose I could do some cutting or something but I dont want to sacrifice ride quality for ride height at this point. With 40 series tires and those springs, it does ride a little bumpy. The biggest annoyance (although it doesnt bother me too much) is the road noise. Id have to say that 90 percent of that is due to the tires I have though. Heres are some links to pics of my car so you can see the ride height and stance if your interested. http://myweb.cableone.net/hunkyhubby/JimMerritt_Escort_3.JPG http://myweb.cableone.net/hunkyhubby/DSCF0021_2.JPG http://myweb.cableone.net/hunkyhubby/EGT.JPG
I like the springs and would use them again in the future. Intrax is a pretty good name and has been around for a long time. Good luck!
