I'm not sure if you guys drive a lot of pickups, but even SUV's have them.

Most of the supervisors and my yard manager have the newer Ford pickups, and I've been wondering....you know that console thing right above the rear view mirror, it has the LED screen that displays the direction you're driving(N,NW,S,SW,etc, etc.) and the temp. I want to say compass but it just doesn't sound right in my head. Also it has the flip down sunglass holder and the CD holder. Hell yeah!!!1

What if you could get a hold of one of these and install in the scort...tada!!! I think that would be the shiznit. It's just been something floating around in my head for a while. What do you guys think????? If i can get my car running again, this is definately on the "To-do" list.

I think it is a fantastic idea! Depends on the difference in fit but if you pull it off, we'll all do it or live vicariously through you :!:

I figured...if you get one from a wrecking yard...you could pull the whole overhead panel thing and naturally it would be bigger than the escorts. It's already molded for the console and theres room for adjustments.

If not then adjustments could be made to the scorts roof. WEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Anyone else???

Intriguing Idea. How would you power the console though? would you use an extra fuse space or could you just use your dome light wires? :?

Btw.. the n, e, w, s (news) thing is called a compass, you were right.

I wanna see pics of this when it's done!

If possible I'd use an extra fuse space, BUT if not, I luckily work with a guy who can wire anything. He worked for one of the GM dealers out here and specialized mainly in electrical work. The guy is a genius when it comes to anything that deals w/electricity. LUCKY ME!!!!!
