I searched to no avail....... 1993 Ford Escort LX 1.9 SW.

Passenger side inside door handle won't open the door; remove inner door handle and find the little plastic/nylon "keeper" is broken; no problem.... go to O'Reilly's and buy a single or a packet of them.

Easy to get the keeper on the "pull" wire/shaft but the keeper cannot be FORCED into the door handle.... I've ruined a few trying; duh, is the keeper too BIG? it is a Dorman packet and labeled "Ford".... hmmmmm.

Today I'm going to try to find a different brand? but wondering if anybody else here has experienced that. Yes, I removed the inner door panel [let it hang there] for more hand and arm room but pliers or nothing will push the keeper into the inner door handle hole.

Let me know; I'll bet LOTS of people have had the keeper break?

    thx,

Can be used to post photos.

I think he's talking about the little white plastic joiner that keeps the metal pull rod connected to the plastic lever. /guess

There is a bend in that rod that sometimes flattens out so that the handle simply does not pull far enough to trip the latch. The keeper is nice but it is more for rattle prevention than guidance for the rod.

Try bending the rod a bit steeper.
