Does anyone know what size injectors are on a Gen1 1.9L HO and what size are on a Gen2 1.9L?? Or any other litte quirky differences between the two engines. I know the Gen2 has a different 3 bolt valve cover and the intake is different. Does anyone know the power rating of a Gen2 1.9 as compared to a Gen1 1.9 HO. I found somewhere (I think in a Chilton) that the Gen1 1.9 HO was rated at 110hp.

The reson I was wondering was because I noticed the intake manifolds on the Gen 2 had shorter, smother runners than the Gen1´s. Shorter runners tend to give more torque, and that´s what I am looking for in my car. I know the trottle body is a big restriction on the Gen 2´s so I was planning on using my exsisting throttle body. I was mosly wondering if I should stick with my current injectors, or if the Gen 2 injectors were bigger. I don´t gues anyone out there has really put much thought into this before??

NEW INJECTOR QUESTION:

the 2cd gen 1.8L uses I think a 230cc injector. Because the turbo is going in soon I will need a bigger injector.

I want either a 330 from the GTX, if I can find one, or will a 460 from a non-turbo RX7 if it will work. If it will, what year RX7?

Are the injectors in the 1.8L a low or high impedence injector ?

I think that is true for headers, but for intakes, shrt runners ar for torque. Thats why on a carburated car it´s pointless to run a huge tunnel ram intake on a street car. no torque at the low end. But with a shorter intake, you get better torque but less high end.

Hey guys (and the odd girl or two who may read this), I found out some info if anyone is interested. The 1st gen and 2nd gen 1.9l engines both use 14lbs injectors. They have white tops on them, and that is how you can distinguish the different injector sizes that Ford uses. I just bought some 19lbs(orange top) injectors off of a stock 5.0. Hopefully with the air intake mod that I did, and the less restrictive exhaust I will pick up a couple HP there since my A/F guage seems to always indicate lean. I am also planning on upgrading to a mandrel bent 2.5 in exhaust here soon, and stiking with the side pipe mod that I did. I can´t wait for that.
