i was wondering if there was a web site out there that has ALL the information about the 2nd gen´s. preferably one with statistics, facts, and comments, the whole nineyards, and everything else that is available to know.

check out http://carpoint.msn.com for that kind of information. i think it has curb weight, height, width, crap like that...all the information you are lookin for i think. just look up the info on whatever year/make/model you want.

www.edmunds.com has some info too. Good luck trying to learn all you can in such a short time, it´s taken me a year to learn all that I have about my car, and I´m still learning about it.

I have yet to find a good website with all the Escort info I would want.

I now have a complete collection of Escort sales brochures from 1991 to 2000, and they have a lot of information about specs, options, colors, etc. I have an Encyclopedia of American Cars which gives sales data for each body style for each model year, and also things like weight and HP. I´ve learned a lot by looking at every Escort I see, and taking some notes. A Chilton or Haynes manual is a good resource too. I´ve learned from James how to read VIN´s so I can tell what year a car is if I´m not sure, although I can now pretty easily tell a 91-92 from a 93 from a 94 from a 95-96.
I´m not sure if any of this is the kind of information you want, but feel free to ask any questions you have and I´m sure one of us on this site will have the answers. Yeah, and if you find a great website be sure to let us know!

mostly the information i needed was like 0-60 time, and 1/4 mile run was. but those two were already answered for me in a different thread. all i wanna know so far, is how much a 2nd generation LX weighs..

OK here are weights for 95 LX´s:
3dr 2,355lbs
4dr 2,385lbs
5dr 2,404lbs
wagon 2,451lbs
Weights differ from year to year, I guess because of minor changes and different standard equipment. Also options on a car will obviously effect it´s actual weight.
