i have a 98 escort LX, its a 2.0L. i wanna buy an intake for it, but my big dilemma is i dont know if its an SPI of not....i know its a 2.0L DOHC but not sure about the SPI. How do i find out or is it one at all? I need to pretty soon because i wanna go head and purchase the intake before i blow the money on something stupid like DVD's for my I.C.E. if you guys could get back to me that would be great...i'll have pics of the whip up soon just gotta get a good day to take one...

Ok on the 98 escort if yours say 2000 split port injection on the top of the engine then you have a SPI. This is what my 98 says on it and all the others that I have seen. As for it being a DOHC I think the ZX2 is the only one with them after 96 which was the last year for the 2nd gen escort. Then of corse the DOHC would have been in the GT, LX-E, and Tracer LTS (or I think that is the one). I hope this helps!
