Guys come this Monday I will no longer be a scort owner. Yes, I know it is a tradgedy but I´m hangin up the scort for it´s offspring the FOCUS ZX3 S2. Yes i know, from an scort to a focus street edition 2 (hints the s2) how could I do this. But I will still be here in spirit. Or I might just hang out here anyway I have no life. But I just want to say thanks to everyone for all their help and advice. You guys were, er, are great. Bye and Thanks.

The S2 is a very nice looking line. It nicely fills the gap between bare bones ZX3 and the SVT. Check out Ford´s site for pictures. SuperScort - sounds like you got a good deal. I hope Ford resolved all the quality issues they had with the Focus.

SuperScort, good luck with the Focus man! It sounds nice. And yeah, the Focus did suceed the Escort, so it kinda is an Escort in spirit. I mean, Ford could have just as easily called it an Escort and then it´d be a 4th gen scort......well anyway, enjoy!

OH GOD ,NO ! The Focus is NOT the legitimate heir to the Escort ! It was created as a competing line not as a succeding line . The only reason that the Focus is so popular is that Ford deliberately killed the Escort !! The Escort was holding her own in sales and keeping the Focus from selling like they wanted , so, they killed the most popular compact car in America . I don`t like Focus`s because I think they are ugly and awkward . I was offered a new Focus for a little bit less than my Escort which was slightly used ,and I bought my sleek , shiny ,Beauty . No offence intended to brother SuperScort . If a Focus is you car of choice or neccessity , then more power to you . Don`t forget to drop by from time to time ( like every night) My comments are only aimed at the notion that the Focus is somehow the natural successor to the Escort . Thats not what I heard at my dealership ! Not trying to start a fight as this is all I have to say on the matter . End of statement , end of diatribe .

:-Y I was completely put off the Focus when my neighbour bought one - he wears jogging pants with his beer belly hanging over, carpet slippers, never shaves and walks around with a roll-up hanging off his lower lip - yuk!!

I stand corrected. Ford did sell the Escort alongside the Focus at first. And yeah, the Focus kinda stole the Escort´s thunder.

But hey, it´s a Ford at least. And personally I like the styling of the 4dr and wagon a lot, even tho I prefer the Escort. If the (sad) day comes when I can´t purchase a decent Escort, I´d kinda like to do a 4dr Focus SVT. Just an idea. Peace!
