My brother traded his Civic SI in for a 2003 Toyota Matrix XR...

FINALLY!!!!!! I have the FASTEST car in the family. woooohooooo!!!!!!!

My brother still says "your car is such a piece of shit...." blah blah blah...It just pisses me off everytime. Then he tells me my price range is only in the 12000 dollar range where i can get a little crappy Kia or another Geo Metro. He´s such an asshole and he knows it. but I´m happy. His wife made him trade in his two door coupe SI for the 4 door matrix. ha! must suck to live under fear of your own wife.

hehe thats great. my woman rules though. We are selling her wrangler to buy a house. once we get the house she already wants me to buy a truck (possibly a used superduty if they come down in price enough over the next year +). If not a superduty than a early 90´s f250/350 4x4 with diesel (hope to turbo it). Anywho she wants and olf muscle car and there isn´t a point to selling the old egt with the blue book only like 1800. So she is cool with me keeping it as a race vehicle at the very least. Sooo... hopefully I will have a new truck. snag a good trailer (found a source for a good inclosed racecar type trailer for under 5K new!) and I´ll be able to build that race scort I´ve been dreaming of. Plus I´ll get to restore/buildup some sweet ass muscle car.

now all I need is about 5K for the down payment on the house.. about 10K + for the truck, another 2-5K for a trailer, probably 2-5K to build up a nice muscle car, and a few grand for the race scort. *L*

I must admit though, that Matrix is pretty sweet. It´s got the same engine as the new Corolla S that I was looking at. He doesn´t even drive the Matrix either. It´s basically his wife´s vehicle to go to work and back, etc. She wanted a four door cause their kid still is in a baby seat. At any rate, my car is faster now

the only things i dislike about the matrix is that it just looks too tall, doesn´t look like a true car anymore, some other ´genre´ of automobile. same thing with the vibe. unlike the protege5 which i think is the best outta the three (car-shaped at least)

the other thing that slightly deterred me was that they pulled the name from one of my favourite movies of all time, kind of a cheesy unoriginal tactic, but whatever works

Well you do sit pretty tall when you´re in the Matrix, of course my brothers has the optional 17" rims on it. It´s meant to be more of a cargo carrier, or family car than a true sports sedan, although if you put the right suspension parts on there, like struts, sway bars and strut tower brace, you can get that thing to corner better than EGTs and even some other true sports cars.
