James - Thanks for posting the link - most interesting, especially for me who knows absolutely nothing about the history of the US Escorts. :)

I´m fairly sure from the pics I´ve seen of the Erebuni Kit that they were just importing the Rieger Kit....it is a sweet kit though...I have a Rieger Catalog that I picked up my last time in Germany...man some sweet ass rides in there

I wouldn´t. I think they look pretty dumb. Parking would get tricky too. I do like the headlights and the fact you can put wider tires on. But really what is the point of having tires that wide on the back of an FWD car.

well what is the point of doing anything to any car...because you want to...I have seen the kit installed and it moves around pretty good from what I could tell....it was parked in downtown Hanau near the Markplatz,,,,and parking there is pretty tight

that´s what i was gunna say james...yea, cosworth being AWD...
still, even if it were FWD, having wider tires all around would have better traction on a road course than just the front being wide, no?

having wide tires all the way around on FWD... wouldn´t they counteract each other?
Wide rear tires on a FWD will cause more understeer, while wide front tires ona FWD car will help with grip in cornering, accelerating and braking. So wouldn´t the effects of each other cancel each other out?? :-? I´m not a mechanic or a technician of any sort. (besides phone)

i see what you mean, but wouldn´t each tire have more grip individually, just adding up for greater hold all around? it wouldn´t counter the understeer/oversteer effects, just increase speed in corners...i dunno, you´d think it would have SOME kind of effect with more rubber on the ground! this would be a good question to pose to someone with professional tire knowledge, which i truly have none of! :-]

Yeah all my tire knowledge can be said in one sentence. but all that is purely speculation using some sort of common sense as a barrier from complete stupidity ;-) Don´t quote me on any of it, it´s just the way I think. :-]
